Antonio Sabato Jnr Does 'Gay'

I remember the impact of seeing that first Antonio Sabato Jnr poster - a friend and I seriously considered smashing the glass of the hoarding, and doing a grab and run! Really!

Of course he aged - rather fabulously - as we did ourselves ...

... and flashed his dick in 'Testosterone' (2003) ...

... mmm ... okay!

And now he's done 'gay'.

At first I thought he did it rather nicely and sweetly.

But the more I looked at the shots, the more I realized there was absolutely no reaction to the other guy.

Only an almost smirking (?) smile at the photographer. Which I find it hard to read. A put down of the situation? Or having decent fun in another than his usual mode of gay?

Not sure.

What do you guys think?

  1. I always thought those photos with the other guy were terrible; you have it right, there is no connection, and Antonio is just not looking that spectacular; kind of sickly. I saw him a year or two ago in something like "Dancing with the Stars",etc. He looked awful. He had gained weight and lost all of his muscle tone; so sad. I think he looked his best in that movie where he played a murderous pimp of sorts. He was soo gorgeous it hurt to look at him.

  2. So typical of a camera whore. The focus has to be on him so he has to look at the camera.

Nothing ruins a hot scene for me more than someone looking directly into the camera and breaking that third wall. The same with deliberately looking off camera obviously at porn or the director.

    Well, what can you do?

  3. It fits with his personality in the movie. The character uses the American for sex and abandons him, causing the American to obsessively search for him, so these photo shots reflect that relationship pretty well.

  4. Other explanations could be that

    a) he is self absorbed, and/or

    b) he can't act?

I'm going over to my new neighbor's tonite for the "big eve" and I don't expect much with all his friends there...but who knows ...maybe I can stay after and clean up...including him...lol

yep, so on the slippery slide down to becoming quite ordinary - unlike us who are on the rise, right?

    LOL

so he's gay in the movie? i imagined it was a straight affaire.

this photo shoot doesn't seem to suggest he's in character (and so anything to do with a movie) - just doing the model thing

i did wonder myself about the last two pics

but assumed (i think correctly) that aging was the confounding factor!

whereas we are even hotter-looking with time - i find this really curious! LOL

and i don't think these are mutually exclusive

or even the end of the list

  15. Nick - those last 3 pics are not from the movie Testosterone in which his character's true orientation is kept purposely semi-ambiguous. His co-star in Testosterone can be currently seen courting Kate Walsh's character on the ABC TV show "Private Practice".

  16. hey alan

thanks for the info about 'testosterone'

did you get the sense that the sexual ambiguity thing was a justifiable part of the drama or a reluctance to make the character gay?
