James Marsden and Scott Speedman - The Kiss

You know that heart jolt when you see an actor you find supremely erotically beautiful having a gay screen kiss. And the wild synergy of TWO of your supreme actor hotties pashing.

So for me, it was James Marsden ...

... and Scott Speedman ...

... about to 'do' it in 'The 24th Day'.

In an interview, James Marsden said

'Before we had this kiss scene, the other actor and I had a talk and said "The worst thing we could do is to do it 50%, so let's just fucking do it and be in the moment and be these guys." Did I get off on it? No, but you know what? If I kiss a girl in a movie, I don't really get off on that either, because you've got 10,000 people and a camera pointing at you and you're worried about what your next line is.'

James has played a gay guy in three or four movies ... but he has a wife and two kids so don't go any where with all this guys!

  1. I actually saw that movie, and although I'm not much of a drama lover (guess I'm not a stereotype?) I kinda liked it. But - I don't care if he has a wife and kids, he should do gay porn! lol

Oops - did I make too much of it?

  2. "wife and 2 kids" ain't certification of heterosexuality -preferring to poke the pussy, is though. (refer to Senator Larry Craig, et.al.)

  3. no, you are dead on greg - my thought exactly! i like his conviction approach to acting too - hate it when straight actors do a gay role and imagine they have to (or can't do otherwise than) look awkward kissing, whatever.

  4. Straight or "straight" actors acting "gay," especially if they're doing man-to-man kiss scenes, always annoy me. They always act like they think they should have a medal pinned on them for extra hazardous duty.

My movie obsession is Guy Pearce. I don't want to know whether he's "staright" or "gay" or how many wives and kids he has. I just want to watch, and maybe give him some memories he'll never forget, even in Memento! : )

  5. i know what you mean keith - in fact i usually don't want to know anything about the actor's background - it can get in the way. i just want them to move me, convey the story to me, be real, and so on. as i said in the post i hate seeing actor's playing gay and seeming to be repulsed by having do it. i remember reading an article about alex dimitriadis's performance as a gay man in an aussi film ('hard on') - he said kissing the man was like like eating shit. i didn't need to know this and hated that i did. just wanna see a convincing portrayal.
