Oink Oink

There's something very piggy hot bout Ivan - it's all that big firm plump pink flesh.

Actually, can't help thinking of my post on Bernadette Peters singing 'Hello Little Girl' (Sondheim - 'Into the Woods') where the wolf contemplates the culinary possibilities of Little Red Riding Hood:
Mmmh... Unhh...
Look at that flesh, pink and plump
Hello, little girl...
Tender and fresh, not one lump

There's no possible way
To describe how what you feel
When you're talking to your meal!

My mouth's working overtime - don't know about yours!

So, this has gotta be in the way of a 'horse doover' ...

And this (in a curious quick role reversal) has gotta constitute perusing the 'menu' ...

... with a little 'degustation' ...

... or a lot ...

I think we're now heading to the main course ...

... with just a bit of final preparatory work ...

Yep, definitely the mains - and LOTS of it ...

The dessert?

Sure looks tasty sweet!

What restaurant did we say it was?
The New Braille

The chart above is obviously the old standard Braille system, each letter 'read' in the pattern of raised bumps with the finger tips.

Now in the new braille system - Bedroom Braille - I have to tell you there are in fact two ways of 'reading' - either with the tongue OR with the finger tips ...

... and apparently it depends from individual to individual which method is preferred.

But of course you know all this!

And are very literate to boot.

And so from your vast and fluent textual experience, I'm going to ask you to 'read' the following two 'passages' ...

OK, so what's the 'text' saying?

Reversing Empathy Fatigue

We all know it's easy enough to fall into empathy fatigue with respect to world poverty - but every now and then you see something that re-sensitizes you - perhaps through a specific situation.

Like this set of photos of school buses - with the initial three in first world Asia ...

... and the last in New Delhi, India ...

Of course it easy enough to respond to the lack of opportunities for kids but such re-sensitizing can be the way into something more general.

In fact, I had a double exposure this week.

Pressing my dentist for an explanation for the difficulty in getting an appointment with him, he confessed he spent part of each year in Central America giving free dental care to those who could not other-wise afford it.

Mmm ... .
Spike's Bush-Bound Spike

Spike has the kind of quiet self-confidence that's not cocky or oppressive - no punning comments please, it would be unworthy of you - and the fact that you're thinking it is bad enough!

He's got that nice open smile and cheeky grin (careful!) that's so sexy and super appealing ...

But, being pretty venal by nature, what's most appealing of all is his thick dark dense bush.

I am totally mesmerized by it - like when you can't turn away from two cars crashing ...

My imagination has given me an exact idea of its aroma - you know, when your face is pressed smotheringly deep into a crotch to do the opposite of scent-marking.

I hate to have to say it but Spike can be a bit flirty and teasing ...

... though it's only ever momentary cos he's basically a very nice guy ...

... with the crowd-pleasing tendency to flip around ...

... and show just where any other spikes present should go ...

... though those big low-hangin' balls can really distract you (at least momentarily) from serious spiking ...

Maybe a closer-up helps can get you hole-focused again ...

Of course, when Spike's well oiled up ...

... he knows exactly what has to be done ...

... and he does it very well ...

... till he hits the mother load ...

Reckon he's now totally unspiked!

And of course we're much better for it!

Thomas Edison - The Universal Exposition, Paris 1900

Paris - Highlighting the Pavilions and Sites of the Universal Exposition of 1900

Rummaging round my computer I found I had quite a lot more Thomas Edison footage of Paris in 1900 at the time of the Universal Exposition ...

So I thought I indulge myself - and try your patience - and put together another small video of some of the various bits I have.

Each of the titled photos below is for a section of the film ...

Eiffel Tower from the Trocadero Palace

La Place de l'Opera

L'Esplanade des Invalides

Les Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower 1

Les Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower 2

Dancing in Les Champs de Mars

Ascending the Eiffel Tower

So - again - sit back ... you know the drill by now!

Okay?
