Vertigo Can Be A Good Thing!

Well, I'm not saying it's as good as rolling round the sack with a hot guy for hours on end ... but teasing my (slight) tendency to vertigo is for me a pretty intense almost erotic experience.

An experience that the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) in Chicago happily offers with comparative (imagined?) safety.

They offer solid glass viewing platforms ...

... at the 103rd floor ...

... 1,353 feet above the ground ...

Just love this down shot past the kids feet and through the glass floor of the viewing platform ...

... and this one of a kid ...

... doing a bit of inverse flying?

  1. I have been lucky enough to have been here. It is a reath taking experience. I LOVE looking over the edges ofntall buildings, bridges, etc., but this viewing platform did make me a bit queezy at first. Anyone in Chicago has to take the opportunity to visit.

glad you've found me at the new blog

and (good) envy at you having had the Willis Tower experience

i was renting in a 39 story building in manila a couple of years back and the tiny balcony of our 27 floor unit was enough to make my feet tingle - what would happen at the 103 floor goodness knows!

  3. The third pic of the transparent lift surrounded by mist is ideal for a horror movie lol! Reminded me of the possessed lift in the movie "Devil." Enjoy your wholesome posts as much as the porn ones! ;) Suggestions for future posts: male body in contemporary art, film, excerpts of fiction with fitting male body illustration and of crs more exotic props and locations!

never thought of the horror movie potential of the platforms - but of course ... vertigo plus blood-curdling scary of being locked in - like Magnito in his isolation chamber in 'X-Men'!

in fact i used to post men in art (in Greek sculpture, the homoeroticism of the silver Warren Cup [Roman, mid-1st century AD], contemporary drawings based on renaissance works and so on) and 'serious' photography (Adam Raphael, Brian by Massengill, Brian Riley, David Vance, tom bianci and so on) - and it seems to have gone by the wayside - but i loved doing these posts so thanks very much giving me a nudge back in that direction!

  7. Have you heard about the "Glass Bridge" in Colorado? I did a post of it on this old blog a long time ago. I still have the pix. Google "Glass Bridge Colorado" or YouTube to see it.

yeah, it's surprising what you can do - i did some absailing a couple of years back - nervous going over the edge of the cliff but exhilarating going dowm - and at the bottom i just wanted to go back up again ... and did - still terrifying though!
