Public Service Announcement! - Number 1
The scenario - you are about to withdraw ...
... no no no, not from a super hot guy - like this one ...
... or this one ...
... or even this one ...
Come on guys, please be serious!!! This is my first Public Service Announcement!
Withdraw money from an ATM!!! Didn't you see the opening photo!
Okay, now we have some self-control.
So, you're about to put your ... you and NOT going to see THAT photo!!! ... credit card into a machine.
And someone appears out of no-where with a knife and the intension of robbing you the second you get your money.
If you're not man/woman enough to knock him to the ground in the approved movie script manner, there's now an alternative - here in Australia at least.
You simply put in your PIN number (security code) IN REVERSE - so 'fred1965' would be '5691derf'. Check out http://www.afp.gov.au.
The money comes out as usual BUT at the same time an alert is registered with the police. Who arrive pronto and ... . Well, you know the rest.
Does this happen anywhere else in the world?
You know, Nick, I was thinking this was going to be a post about "depositing" something into a "natural" ATM, aka cum in man-hole!!
ReplyDeleteWay to make me hard, and then give a pretty good public service message.
As for the reverse thing, I have no idea whether or not its here in the states.
Oops! Urban legend! See this link to snopes.com for more details. Such a system has been patented but banks have not taken it up.
ReplyDeletehey chris
ReplyDeleteglad to hear this neat technology is around beyond our shores!

I don't think I would EVER withdraw from some of those guys! I can see myself taking up permanent residence in Ass #1 and Ass #4, at least! : )
ReplyDeletehey keith
ReplyDeletewho would have thought we'd be living together - LOL
BTW, thinking of having a personalized stamp made of #1 - reckon it'll catch on in certain quarters!

I checked out http://www.afp.gov.au and this is what I found:

Hoax emails – be aware
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) regularly receives enquiries from members of
the public in relation to hoax emails which circulate on the internet.
Many of these emails are harmless nuisances or spam, but some are scams
designed to trap the unwary. In addition, some emails may contain malicious
software such as viruses and spy ware.
Some common hoax email enquiries received by the AFP include:
1. The reverse PIN number email
This hoax email claims that police will automatically be notified if you enter your
PIN number backwards into a bank’s Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), in the
event that you are held up at an ATM.
It certainly doesn't happen in Australia.
Lets just stick to the cute guys and their hot cocks and asses.
hey earwig
ReplyDeletethanks for alerting us!
another urban myth bits the dust
