Potential Alternative Blog - 'The New Organ Between My Ears'

As you may have noticed in your travels round the blog-o-sphere, quite a number of Blogger sites have been closed down by their administrators for whatever reasons they have in mind.

So in a cunning preemptive strategy, I've already created a just-in-case new blog: 'The New Organ Between My Ears' - which will bear a surprisingly close ressemblance to the old current blog.

So if you could bookmark the URL of my new just-in-case site ...

... we'll be able to carry on business as usual if I get one of those unpleasant notices!

  1. Organ between my ears??
    What IS that??? lol

Actually like the sound of it, but hopefully you won't have to resort to that.

  2. They haven't been closed by their administrators - they've been shut down by Google. Do a search for "Google shutting down gay blogs" - might give you a clue as to what's actually going on.

Or, as the old joke had it: don't laugh - you're next.

  3. hey greg

thanks, yeah, i had the sense that some preemptive activity was required now - cos today, a few of the blogs i visit had met the grisly suspended fate

the thing between our ears is sometimes called a 'brain' - which reminds me of being in jerusalm and seeing 'low brains soup' on the menu of a restaurtant - aka balls soup. in china it's called 'soup number five'

so now i'm thinking of alternative names for the possible new blog!

  4. hey anon

google owns blogger - so same thing

actually i've been chatting with people round the blog-o-sphere and it's well understood that it's a move to close down gay blogs - no mysteries here - we're well and truly in the new conservatism

also been looking at less conservative blog sites

  5. Hey Nick,
Thanks for the new link, just in case...it's a little bit disturbing this move to shut down gay blogs - at least appearances seem to be upholding that logic...cheers, Art

  6. I'd hate to loose your blog, Nick.

I see that most guys have started their new blog on totally different host sites.

One guy used Blogger again and that site was taken down within less than 24 hours. ugh

I guess google has to keep people employed. so stupid.

  7. hey doug

    yeah, it would be sad

but i've applied for a blog with nibblebits and am waiting to get their activation email - keep you informed

all the content of blogs closed down can be accessed by the owner and a new blog opened and this content 'imported' - i've tried this and it works fine

so i have the new blog ready to take all the content of the old - it is:

    http://theneworganbetweenmyears.blogspot.com/

so it'd be good to bookmark it in readiness for the 'breached terms of blogger' notice!

as i've mentioned, i've re-opened the blog of mine that was closed:

    http://fastfootwork.blogspot.com/

jeff has also given out a strategy to get blogger to re-open closed blogs - it worked with one of his adult blogs - another strategy i'll simultaneously try is the axe falls

    best

  8. hey art

it's a wait and see situation - tho reckon it will cum - feel sure it's a programmed thing - there are so many right wing groups out there, organized and putting pressure on a a range of businesses to be conservative - not a paranoid thing - just a real world thing
