The Semiotics of Armpits

Remember the first time you saw that billboard where your gaydar beeped just a tad more than was warranted by the cuteness rating of the model. Then you realised that the industry, now in even more rabid pursuit of the pink dollar, had discovered a gay erogenous zone that had not been speaking it's name - the ARMPIT. For me, it was a guy lolling round on Sheridan sheets (I have no shares in the company, guys!) - giving ample justification for flashing a deep furry trench of a pit.

And then you couldn't see an ad with a cute guy that hadn't got his arm up with his pit right out there in ya face - yum:




So what do you reckon are the salient characteristics of the armpit as an erogenous zone?

• Taste: that musky acrid funky taste that lingeres in ya mouth ... - who cares if it's just the luteinising hormone.
  
• The Bush: placement, size and volume (ack. Samantha, 'Sex in the City').
  
• The Trunch: Deepness and definiteness - it's the gay counterpart of a woman's clevage
  

Now that the pit is on the gay agenda, questions flood in:

• 'Should I be shaved or not?'
• 'Is deodorant still ok?' (are you kidding!!! - bottom of the class, matey!!!)
• 'Should I ever wash them before a date?'
  
• 'During a fuck, is it ok to jerk of (or cum) into his armpit without asking?'
• 'If ya gunna give the signal, should it be the left, the right or both arms up? (Before answering, you could check the pics below to see which technique works best, at least for you)
• 'Is a sweaty dripping pit a turn-on?' (for what it is worth, my answer is, 'You bet!'):

The pit flash is not restricted to foreplay. It can be used to sex the guy up during fucking if things are not going well. The guy on the left was dropping off to sleep, and then, WHAM, a DOUBLE pit flash and he was back down to it, going like a ferret:



Just a final thought. Maybe we could have a new fag semiotics of farewelling. Instead of the traditional kiss (and you are never sure if or where it should be planted, are you?) how bout the pit-kiss? Which could be deeper and longer, perhaps with a additional 'tongue job', if you are hinting a pick-up situation (Carrie Bradshaw, again!). So it'd be a two part-er: the 'salute' (or arm raise) and the 'contact', where you dive into the bush, with the optional tongue work.
